The new blue dial for Big Ben’s magnificent timepiece has been released just in time for the new year. The Queen Elizabeth Tower has not been open to the public since 2017, but today many people are looking up at it for the first time. Because of the air pollution, Westminster decided to blacken the dial in order to keep it looking new. Big Ben is open to the public for tours from 9:30 am until 3:30 pm, Monday through Sunday. It is important to note that the bells of Big Ben are not available to be viewed from the inside. Visitors are able to view a model of Big Ben and learn about the history of the bell tower. Despite the fact that Big Ben is currently closed to the public due to ongoing restoration work, it is still open for visitors. The tours of Big Ben and the Elizabeth Tower used to be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., before the planned restoration work began. Big Ben isn’t open to the public.
